Project Overview

The BKFA has worked in Zambia since 2006.

We work mainly with the following organisations;

1. The Butterfly Tree – Mukuni Village

2. On Call Africa

 

This is again a country with a high maternal mortality rate of 750:100,000 live births.

In Zambia they received their pilot kits in 2008 at Livingstone. Up to the end of 2011, The Butterfly Tree had distributed 4,000 birthing kits.

On Call Africa (http://www.oncallafrica.org.uk/)

As a new partner, On Call Africa is currently awaiting its pilot program of 200 birthing kits. BKFA is looking forward to further developing this relationship once the shipment has arrived and we can confirm that we are able to send future kits to On Call Africa.
